ASHMARCH

Clue Scrolls

Clue scrolls drop from most monsters at roughly 1 in 200, and the dropping monster's combat level sets the tier — Easy at 1 to 39, Medium at 40 to 69, Hard at 70 and above. Solve maps, anagrams, riddles, coordinates and emote clues to earn a Reward Casket.

Clue scrolls on Ashmarch are instant rewards, not treasure trails. There are no clue steps to follow — no maps, coordinates, riddles, anagrams, puzzle boxes or emotes — and there is no reward casket item. You click the scroll and the loot goes straight into your inventory.

Clue scrolls drop from any monster that has a combat level, at 1 in 199 per kill. The tier is set by that monster's combat level: Easy (combat 1–39), Medium (combat 40–69), Hard (combat 70+). The scroll lands on the ground beneath you and a chat message names the tier that dropped.

How to Redeem

Click the scroll in your inventory. It is consumed on the spot and the reward appears immediately — there is no second step. You can carry as many scrolls as you like, of any tier, and redeem them whenever you want.

What a Clue Gives

Every clue rolls one of three reward shapes, each equally likely:

ChanceReward
1 in 3Two unique items and one stackable reward
1 in 3One unique item and one stackable reward
1 in 3One unique item on its own

The stackable reward is coins, food, runes or arrows, and the amount scales with the tier: 1–151 on Easy, 1–201 on Medium, 1–351 on Hard.

TierStackable rewards
EasyCoins, Lobster, Nature rune, Steel arrow
MediumCoins, Swordfish, Nature rune, Law rune, Adamant arrow
HardCoins, Shark, Nature rune, Law rune, Death rune, Rune arrow

Unique Rewards by Tier

Each tier draws its unique from its own pool. Every item in a pool is equally likely, so a tier's rarest-looking piece is no rarer than its most common one.

Medium58 itemsAdamant armour and weapons, including trimmed, gold-trimmed and heraldic kiteshields; Ranger boots; Wizard boots; the full Infinity set; Mage's book; Blue d'hide; D'hide body and chaps (g/t); Coif; boaters in five colours; headbands in three; Yew shortbow and longbow; Highwayman mask

Third age is the rarest reward in the game and only Hard clues can give it. A hard clue has a 1 in 500 chance of producing a Third age piece instead of its normal reward; a second roll then picks which of the twelve pieces (range, mage or melee) it is, so any one named piece is 1 in 6,000. Third age has no stat advantage over god armour — it is a prestige item.
